How Does Forging Work? Step by Step
A forging passes through eight distinct stages between raw bar and packed component. Each one is controlled and recorded, because a failure at any stage cannot be corrected downstream.

Stages One to Four: Preparation and Forming
Bar is spectro-tested and cut to a calculated billet weight within ±1 mm. The billet is induction heated to 1,150–1,250°C with pyrometer verification. It is then struck or pressed in blocker and finisher impressions until the cavity fills. Flash is trimmed hot on a dedicated press.

Stages Five to Eight: Properties and Verification
Controlled cooling or a normalising cycle refines grain. Heat treatment sets final hardness, recorded on furnace charts. Shot blasting removes scale. CNC machining brings critical features to ±0.02 mm. Inspection, NDT where specified, and export packing complete the route.
Why Each Stage Is Recorded
A hardness problem traced back through furnace charts takes hours to diagnose. Without those records it takes weeks and usually ends in argument. Recording is what makes the process controllable rather than merely repeatable by habit.
