Indian trailers routinely operate above rated load. Designing to the rating alone produces field failures, so load-bearing trailer forgings are engineered with margin for the loading they will actually see rather than the loading printed on the plate.

King Pins and Coupling Hardware
The king pin connects trailer to tractor and carries the entire draft load through a single component. It is case hardened for wear resistance in the fifth wheel, with a tough core to survive shock from coupling and road inputs.
