Taper Seat and Thread Accuracy
The tapered stud seat must mate precisely to develop clamping friction, and the threaded shank must accept adjustment without binding. Both are machined and gauge verified rather than left to as-forged tolerance.
Housing Geometry
Ball socket housings are forged with grain flowing around the socket, so the housing resists the pull-out force that a machined-from-bar equivalent would concentrate across cut fibres.
