Automotive Forging

Automotive forging is defined by three things: safety criticality, volume, and documentation. A part that performs beautifully but cannot be traced, measured and proven batch after batch will not survive an OEM audit.

Certification
ISO 9001, IATF 16949 aligned
Documentation
PPAP, PFMEA, control plan
Inspection
100% on safety-critical parts
Typical Volume
5,000 – 50,000 pcs/year
Materials
20MnCr5, 42CrMo4, EN19, micro-alloyed
Traceability
Heat number, billet to dispatch

Safety-Critical Discipline

Steering, braking and suspension parts are category-one components. Each is 100% inspected, heat-number marked and documented, because a field failure becomes a recall, not a credit note.

  • 100% NDT on safety-critical parts
  • Heat number marked on each piece
  • PPAP and control plan documentation
  • Cpk monitored on key characteristics
02

Volume and Consistency

Automotive schedules run in tens of thousands. What matters is not the best piece but the worst one — so process capability, die maintenance intervals and gauge control are managed as production disciplines rather than inspection afterthoughts.
