Pump Industry Forging

Pump manufacturers face a hard constraint: a shaft failure destroys the seal, the bearings and often the casing. Forged shafts with verified fatigue properties are cheap insurance against that cascade.

Shaft Length
Up to 1,500 mm
Materials
EN19, EN24, SS 304/316/410
Seal Seat Finish
Ra 0.4 µm ground
Runout
Verified after grinding
Components
Shafts, hubs, casings, glands
Applications
Centrifugal, reciprocating, submersible

Shaft Fatigue Governs Pump Life

Hydraulic side load bends the shaft while torque twists it, thousands of times a minute. Combined fatigue is the design driver, and it is exactly where forged material outperforms turned bar stock.

  • Combined bending and torsion duty
  • Ground seal and bearing seats
  • Straightness verified after hardening
  • Stainless options for corrosive media

Seal Seat Quality

Mechanical seal life depends on surface finish and runout at the seal seat. We grind rather than turn these areas and verify runout, because a seal failure returns as a warranty claim on the pump, not on the shaft.
