What Actually Drives the MOQ
A die costs the same whether it makes 50 parts or 50,000. Setup — heating, die mounting, trial pieces, first article approval — consumes hours regardless of batch size. Spread across 50 pieces, that fixed cost per part becomes absurd.

Routes Around the MOQ
Open die forging needs no dedicated tooling, so single pieces are viable for simple geometry. Machining from a forged blank suits prototypes. And a small batch on an existing die is entirely reasonable — our repeat minimum is 200 pieces against 500 for a new die.
Committing Annual Volume
If you need 200 pieces every quarter, say so. An annual commitment of 800 lets a supplier price the die across the year and release in small batches, which is a different and much better conversation than asking for 200 pieces once.
