Forged Sprockets & Chain Wheels

Sprocket teeth take impact loading every time a chain roller seats. Forged blanks give the dense, uniform structure that survives that hammering once hardened — cast sprockets chip at the tooth tip long before a forged one shows measurable wear.

Impact at Every Tooth Engagement

Chain drives load teeth suddenly rather than smoothly. Surface hardness resists wear, but the tough forged core is what stops a hardened tooth from snapping off under shock — a balance a fully hardened cast tooth cannot strike.

  • Hardened tooth flanks
  • Tough forged core
  • No porosity at tooth tips
  • Uniform pitch accuracy
02

Pitch and Profile Accuracy

Tooth profile and pitch circle are machined to the chain standard so load distributes across several teeth instead of concentrating on one. Bore, keyway and hub faces are finished in the same setup family to keep the sprocket running true.

Duty-Matched Materials

EN8 and SAE 1045 for general conveyor duty; EN19 and 42CrMo4 with induction hardened flanks for agricultural and crawler applications that see abrasive, shock-loaded service.

FAQ

Questions Answered

Do you harden sprocket teeth?

+

Yes, induction hardening on tooth flanks to as much as 55 HRC while keeping the core tough.

Can you make sprockets to a chain sample?

+

Yes. Send the chain or its specification and we generate the tooth profile drawing for approval.

What sizes do you produce?

+

80 mm to 600 mm outside diameter in forged form.

Are bores and keyways machined?

+

Yes, bore, keyway and hub faces are finished in-house to drawing.
