Warm forging is under-used in India, largely because it demands tighter process control than hot forging without offering cold forging's headline accuracy. For the right part it is decisively the most economical route.

The Trade-Off It Resolves
Hot forging gives formability but loose tolerance and heavy scale. Cold forging gives accuracy but only on simple shapes with high press loads. Warm forging sits between: moderate loads, minimal scale, tolerances two to three times tighter than hot.

Best Applications
Gear blanks, splined shafts, clutch hubs and sprockets — parts with profiles that benefit from near-net forming but are too complex or too strong for cold work.
Why It Demands Discipline
The temperature window is narrow, roughly ±20°C, and lubrication is critical at these temperatures. It is not a process to attempt without induction heating, pyrometer verification and a proper die lubrication regime.
